At my conference, I saw some writers we've read

Here's a photo I took at the conference I was at. It's Ursula Le Guin signing a book for me. I said to her, "I just taught your book The Word for World is Forest."

She said, "What? It's about Vietnam. Your students are too young to remember Vietnam."

I said, "Well, there's that whole environmental theme."

She said, "Yeah. I guess that part is still relevant."

I said, "I'd rather teach Always Coming Home but that book is way too long."

She laughed and said, "Yeah."
